Seattle Backyard Cottages
The city of Seattle has approved a bill that would allow homeowners to build backyard cottages to create additional housing and low cost housing opportunities.
The basic requirements are that the owner must live on site and the cottage can not be any larger than 800 sq. ft. The original bill was written to cap at 50 cottages per year but the city removed that portion of the bill.
So, that mother-in-law apartment or rentable detached living space on your property is now a possibility!!
